Steve Haumschild and Jeff Kozlovich founded the Ka’iwi Channel Association in 2013. Together, they built the organization that has been synonymous with setting and maintaining the highest standards for channel swimming in the state of Hawaii.

Stefan Reinke says, “We are committed to upholding and expanding the legacy of the organization. With the transition to Kaiwi Crossings LLC, the organization will continue to operate under the familiar name, Ka’iwi Channel Association, and maintain its dedication to governing and ratifying all Ka’iwi Channel crossings.”
The new ownership group brings decades of collective experience in Hawaii channel swimming and is poised to build upon the strong foundation established by the two founders. “We are excited to carry on the great work of Steve and Jeff and further enhance the Ka’iwi Channel Association’s role as the leading authority for channel swims in Hawaii,” said Ka’iwi Crossings LLC member and Hawaii Swimming Hall of Fame inductee Bill Goding.
In addition to upholding rigorous standards, the Ka’iwi Channel Association, is dedicated to providing comprehensive logistical support to ensure a seamless experience for swimmers. The organization’s mission remains focused on allowing swimmers to
concentrate solely on their athletic endeavors, with the assurance that all other aspects of their Ka’iwi Channel swims are expertly managed.
